Office Building, Madrid, Spain
Design: Rodriguez Plaza Architects
____________
A memorable interior decoration project that we tailor-made for the lobby of an architectural firm in Calle Pinar 7 in Madrid.
In Office Building, we sought to give prominence to light.
But without it falling directly and abruptly on the objects. Rather, indirectly and as a caress.
The electric light bulbs are located in the right places,
as we imagine that the light would have to be dispersed throughout the room.
We also imagined a large glass window, which is not visible in the visualizations.
This window lets in natural light from the wall adjacent to the colored parallelogram.
____________
Once we had this space illuminated, we asked ourselves:
What objects should we invite inside?
And so we started carefully selecting the furniture.
We looked for functional elements that would be comfortable for the clients who would sit and wait in this hall.
At the same time, we chose furniture with a simple, skeletal, minimalist aesthetic.
It seemed obvious to us that a different style would break the harmony.
____________
The interior design is inspired by the aesthetics of some of our admired geniuses.
On the white and light plane, we wanted to break with traces of color.
That’s why we included yellow ochre behind the discreet radiator.
And we gave prominence to the colorful parallelogram on the wall,
which is a twin of the voluminous figure on the table.
An attentive eye will recognize the dialogue of colors and shapes that exist within this space.
